We had a plague of Indian Mynas on our deck, with dozens of droppings being left every day.
The Yard Sentinel had an immediate effect, actually incredible.
A week on and we have only seen one dropping, from a bird that was quickly scared away.

Rats. We have tried to trap rats, different traps, in our backyard but without success. Our miniature schnauzer killed one that came too early one evening. We wondered if we could repel them.
I stumbled across the Bird Control website. After a prompt response to an internet inquiry, followed by some advice, I purchased the Yard Sentinel. We had a security camera set up close to the ground and had images of the rat visits virtually every night. We set up the Yard Sentinel adjacent to the security camera, just off the ground, as recommended. The ultra sonic was set to rodent. We have not seen a rat since. After a few nights we turned off the Yard Sentinel, still no rat. Moved the security camera to another location, still no rats or any evidence.
I have now lent the Yard Sentinel to a friend one street away to see if he gets it similar result.
My wife and I are really impressed and amazed. Thanks Bird Control for excellent advice and service.

I’m writing this review as I would like all people that are looking to purchase from your company to know how fantastic both the staff and products are.
You recommended the Yard Sentinel for our situation which worked as described by putting it on the constant setting with the sonic volume on 20 decibels.
You called back within minutes of me leaving a message and the order was despatched the same day as the order was placed.
Then I checked in by email after I received it to see if I had set up the device properly and was replied to again by email within the hour.
What amazing service! Highly recommend buying from Bird Control Australia. Good old fashioned service and great products to suit.

I am very impressed with both the quality of these products and the service I recieved. The staff worked with my budget to get the best results we could to rid swallows out of our hay sheds. Using the laser and yard Sentinel together meant that we were about to put a lot of pressure on the swallows and they have left for good. Can’t thank you enough 🙏

The unit is working very well, keeping away the mynas and I am a very satisfied customer.
You really look after a customer and I would recommend your Company to anyone with a bird problem. I wish you continued success with your business.

Works like a dream in the Indian mynas! Just bought another for my dad for Father’s Day 😀

Being the owner of luxury villas in Indonesia, we can’t afford to have our guests be put off by bothersome pests. These Yard Sentinels have been great for keeping insects and geckos away. The best thing is they are discreetly placed in open boxes meaning they don’t interfere with the accommodation’s aesthetics. Mark

This unit has saved me from the daily grind of cleaning up after sparrows, myna birds and the occasional crow. It took approximately 4 days to get the positioning and settings right and then Shazam!

Great product for cats! Had unwanted “gifts” and sprays from random neighbourhood cats. So far so good – since getting the Yard Sentinel, we haven’t had problems.
Great service too – thank you!!

Being in an environmentally friendly suburb in Perth.,and having no issues with the local birds. My wife and I started noticing a murder of crows doing serious damage to ours and neighbouring vehicles as well.Since Crows are protected.,You Can’t shoot them.So We did a bit of research and came across the yard sentinel.
For the Past two weeks after installing the yard sentinel
The Crows haven’t been around.
It’s the most humane and environmentally friendly way of deterring unwanted pests.

Very impressed with these devices.
Mounted 2 on opposite sides of the shed and got rid of our swallow problem. The young lady I spoke to who recommended them was extremely helpful

Sleepless in Possumville
When can we get one?
Possums travel over our roof from the power cables and leap onto the neighbours roof we need help. Will you appliance work for us.
Yes it sure will!

Couldn’t be happier
We have a large house with many different sections which were infested with birds, including the roof.
I bought 3 of these units and pointed them where the birds were coming and annoyingly making a mess.
They have all moved on! Brilliant!

Bandicoots
Will this work for bandicoots?
Answer: yes it will scare most wild animals including bamdicoots

Cat deterrent
Will it work on cats for indoors kitchen bench top?
Is it inaudible for humans?
ANSWER: Yes it will. It won’t harm the cat but it will be irritated by the device if it jumps on the kitchen bench so the Yard Sentinel will break the habit. Put it on the ultrasonic only setting ( volume dial down)and it will not be audible to humans. You may just hear a low volume hissing sound. There is a small percentage of humans ( 4 percent) that may hear the ultrasonics in high frequency.

Crows
They’re in plague proportions in our suburb.
Does this device emit a sound that humans can’t hear ? How long will it last in DC mode ?
ANSWER
The Yard Sentinel is both ultrasonic ( inaudible to humans) and sonic ( audible to humans). You can have the sonic turned on or off and the volume can be adjusted.
It will last up to 2 months in DC mode but this varies depending on the brand of batteries you use. A good option is to purchase rechargeable batteries.

will it harm chickens?
I have a problem with crested doves during the day & possums at night, will this harm my chickens?
ANSWER- it will not harm your chickens. It may, however disturb them if you have it pointed in the direction of the coup.
It is an excellent possum deterrent. The Yard Sentinel RC is probably the best however as it has a flashing strobe light for night time pests.
The Yard Sentinel does not affect household pets such as cats and dogs

Question
Question: I want to scare away birds that are attacking my home veggie patch and fruit tress. However, I also have chickens (the coup is around the trees). Is it safe to use?
Answer: Hi Sue
Thanks for contacting us at Bird Control Australia
Ultrasonics work in line of site, therefore if you are able to have the device pointed toward the bird problem but away from the chicken coup then the chickens will be fine.
The Balcony Guard is an ultrasonic device only so you may wish to try that?
https://birdcontrolaustralia.com.au/index.php/residential/balcony-guard.html
The Yard Sentinel is both Ultrasonic and Sonic( audible to humans). With the volume turned right down it becomes ultrasonic only.
Kind Regards,
Angie

Crows
We have a crow problem at the moment but we don’t want to get rid of all birds . Will this device scare off all birds?
ANSWER: It is not possible to deter some birds and not others. The one bird species that does not seem to be affected by the Yard Sentinel are the Cockatoos

Yard sentinel

Fruit Bats and Flying Foxes
It’s a goer .. Flying Foxes/Fruit Bats were wreaking havoc with my Mango Tree.
Only one on the grass after I put the unit on the fence and I think that one fell off of its own accord.
There is a motion activated light at the lower trunk of the tree (hardwired 12 V LED) and a motion activated floodlight
on the shed nearby which seemed to have only a small deterrent effect.
Was going to hardwire the HR132 but as it is only needed seasonally, the battery option is Brilliant.
Would recommend for any situation similar to mine.
Thanking you

Albatross –
what is the impact on my dog?
Question:
It may chase away unwanted animals but what of the impact on household pets?
Answer:
It has NO impact on household pets as you are using a different frequency…there is a switch for cats and dog, but if you are using this product for Birds or Possums and other animals the setting is different for household pets.
I hope this answers your question.

Bye Bye Possums
Stop the Possums! This article appeared in the Herald Sun (Melbourne) on Friday 13 Feb and no we didn’t write it! It was sent in by one of our customers Mr Peter Nell who said ‘We had the same problem as Deborah Best (YS Feb 10). I bought a Yard Sentinel electronic device to rid our property of the fouling possums and have not had any possums in the last three to four months of use. It does no harm to the possums, only emitting an ultrasonic signal that repels them from our property. It costs around $90 but worth every cent (Bird Control Australia is the company)”

Great Product and Service
Hello
I am emailing you to tell you how great your
yard sentinel device is. I must say that I was
a bit skeptical at first when I found your product
online but having now used it for a month or more
the results are amazing. Before installing your device
we had a daily ritual of cleaning up the disgusting
mess around our back door and patio left by the possums.
No longer are we confronted with a daily mess we are so
pleased that we have our clean patio area and no longer
have a possum problem. The effectiveness of your device
seems to have driven all signs of possum activity from
around our home which is so wonderful. No longer do
we experience thundering runs across our roof on a nightly
basis. I will be trumpeting the value of your device to anyone
that has a possum problem and once again THANKYOU a
thousand times over.

Great Service
The “Yard Sentinel”, as ordered, arrived this afternoon. We very much appreciated your note, an important part of the personal touch which seems to have died out of much of the business world.
Best wishes,
