Introducing the original Scarybird to Bird Control Australia. A new concept in the ecological management of pest birds. At the heart of this Bird Deterrent system is a predator bird shaped kite which mimics the flights of a bird of prey, scaring pest birds away. Scarybird is a simple and effective solution and importantly 100% environmentally friendly.
While no scaring tool can be 100% effective, the Scarybird is a viable solution helping reduce losses from bird damage. While it can be used as a stand-alone product it is most effective when used in conjunction with other methods of bird deterrents and as part of an overall strategic approach to bird control management.
The Scarybird system consists of a kite in the shape of a bird of prey, tethered to a 9-metre telescopic pole by a 2.5 metre nylon string line. Unlike scarecrows which are static, the flight path of the Scarybird kite is constantly changing, hovering one minute, soaring the next, all on the slightest of breeze.
The Scarybird Kite is frequently used to deter pest birds from farms, marinas, rooftops and front and back yards.

Kit Contents:
Each Scarybird kit consists of:
1 x Telescopic Fibreglass pole (9m in length).
1 x Fibreglass Stake (1.1m in length).
1 x Raptor Kite made of high strength rip-stop nylon (155cm W x 56cm L).
1 x Nylon String Line & Swivels (2.5m in length).
1 x Carry Bag.
1 x User Manual.
IMPORTANT: Avoid damage to the Scarybird system by taking it down when wind is intense. (in excess of 45 Km/hour or when storms are predicted).
To prevent birds from getting used to the Scarybird it must be moved every 5 – 7 Day. This can be done quickly by removing the pole, pull the stake out and re-locate it 3 to 4 meters away. When not required and to maximise the kite’s life, Scarybird should be stored in a dry location away from sunlight.

The Scarybird has done a great job of keeping the ducks from foraging on the lawn.
It does fly with low wind but the cheeky ducks tend to still come when there was no wind at all so I suplemented with a Motion Activated Sprinkler and can happily say I’m completely duck free.

Being in the field of education, it has been important to us to use something that will not adversely impact our wildlife, students and teachers so purchased the combination scarybird kite and the super bird xpeller pro v2. We have a major problem with white corellas ripping up our ovals and chewing shade structures. The combo has been working for 2weeks and the corella numbers have reduced considerably, very happy so far. Moving the kite has worked well to change it up also.

Nothing I have used previously has deterred the peewees who were flying and banging into the windows of our house.
Finally having success with the Scarybird Kite! The peewees are obviously being diverted by the kite as it flies around with just a little breeze. Fingers crossed for a Ling term result. I’ll make sure I move it around now and then.

We installed a Scarybird Kite on our marina and it has made a huge difference. We have been battling seagulls and cormorants for years and nothing appeared to work to get rid of them. The Scarybird has been effective since the day we installed it. We anticipate we will install more in different parts of the marina. One concern we had was the visual impact it might have to the apartments that face our marina, but visually the kite is quite rhythmic as it soars and dives, and it is not at all intrusive.
