Completed August 2023
Client Organisation: Soul Boardwalk – Surfers Paradise

Project Overview

IBIS and seagulls in the restaurant complex were contaminating food and compromising hygiene on tables in the precinct.

Savills had unsuccessfully tried to use bird spiking to prevent birds from entering the restaurant area where the smell of food attracts scavenging birds.

Following previous successful projects, Savills engaged our team again to deliver an effective solution.

Project Scope

The client did not want bird spikes or netting as it would interfere with the aesthetics of the site. The only suitable solution was to install bird sonic/ultrasonic deterrent units.

Approach

Installed 4 x Superbird Xpeller Pro 2 sonic units and 1 x QB4 ultrasonic unit to create an effective barrier.

Results

Highly successful project with almost all birds eliminated from the precinct. While adjoining areas limited full control, the sonic barrier has effectively resolved the issue.

Benefits

Provided a solution with no impact to customers, environment, or aesthetics. A discreet barrier now prevents most birds from entering the precinct.
