Well I’ve been meaning to write this blog for quite a while now but sometimes I find myself having to stop and think about not only what day it is, but also what month it is!
I thought it would be great to give our customers an insight in to what days look like at Bird Control Australia.
Being a family business, our team consists of 3 main people plus a bunch of other valuable people who are involved in the logistics, IT and marketing side of the business. Everyone is important and an essential link in the chain.
The 3 main people are myself (Angie,) Joe and Frankie. Frankie is our baby boy who has just turned 1.
I recall taking a call from a customer literally minutes before being rolled in to theatre to meet our little man. The ever so sweet elderly lady had a pigeon problem. The pigeons had decided to make the roof and gutters of her home their home and she was having to deal with unsightly droppings down the side of her house along with an awful smell. This lady was desperate for bird control and good quality bird scarers.
I have no idea if she went ahead with our recommendations as the next 6 weeks were a blur as we had just become first time parents in our mid forties! Yikes!
So I’ve just finished a morning of packing orders and putting them on the shelf for pick up at Bird Control Australia HQ.
Joe stayed up late processing the orders and I’m usually up shortly after dawn when the Frankie alarm goes off!
We have a warehouse facilty where Frankie and I spend time packing orders. He entertains himself by playing with rolls of our shiny reflective tape and throwing himself in to the bubble wrap! Then he gets lots of cuddles from the warehouse staff and couriers that come and go. It’s a special treat to go for a ride on the trolley too. Mum will find any excuse to hop on the trolley for a rest and a ride as well!
We gets lots of daily calls and emails from people requiring Bird Control as well. Our customer base ranges from large mining companies to hotels and restaurants, hospitals, factories , farmers and the little old lady down the street.
Occasionally Frankie and I hand deliver our products. We either meet people at the warehouse or turn up at their doors.
Sometimes we do sight visits too. The last 2 were a well known beachside restaurant in Sydney’s north and the stunning home of a wealthy hotel chain owner in Sydney’s east. He was in desperate need of ibis deterrents and seagull deterrents! We have also ventured out to different vineyards to discuss Bird Control measures. (and of course sample their wine! :))
We really love the diversity of our customer base! We get a lot of referral business too as people are often excited to learn about the cutting edge technologies used today for Bird deterrents. Gone are the days of having to shoot or poison your pests. Lasers bird deterrents and ultrasonic or audible solutions are much more pleasant!
So next time you receive your packages from Bird Control Australia picture it being lovingly wrapped by myself with a keen, playful toddler in tow!
Thanks for reading!
