The 80mW MK2 is specifically optimised for indoor and semi-enclosed spaces, sweeping areas up to 350 meters. It is highly effective at clearing out commercial and industrial structures. It is also highly effective for smaller outdoor areas such as pools and decks.

If you need a system for wide-open agricultural properties, or one that needs to compete with intense, direct sunlight outdoors, we recommend stepping up to the 500mW model, which can sweep up to 1,000 meters. For both models, the laser beam will always appear brightest and travel furthest in low-light conditions or total darkness.

This model has an incredible track record for indoor and outdoor pest control, with users reporting up to a 98% reduction in pigeons and swallows in indoor spaces. It is also proven to be highly effective at keeping:

  • Swallows and pigeons out of sheds, awnings, and warehouses.
  • Ducks away from pools, dams, and crop areas.
  • Cockatoos and other disruptive pest birds off your property.

Once configured, the Hawk Laser MK2 is fully autonomous.

  • The Controller: Features a programmable control panel that lets you set up to 80 positions in either a fixed sequence or a random pattern.
  • The Coverage: The built-in Pan/Tilt device steers the laser across a 350-degree range, allowing you to precisely target roosting areas while avoiding unwanted zones (like neighboring properties).

Note: The control panel itself is not waterproof. Once you finish programming the routine, the panel must be disconnected and removed.

The device draws 12V/0.7A and comes standard with a 240V power adapter to plug directly into mains power. If you are setting it up in a remote area without an outlet, it can easily run off a 12V battery. For a reliable, off-grid setup, we recommend pairing it with:

  • A 12V 50AH deep cycle battery
  • A minimum 40-Watt solar panel with a regulator (we offer a compatible 110W Solar Panel with Regulator)
  • A 12V battery adapter
  • Cooling Cycles: To preserve the life of the laser diode, the system must be powered down for 30 minutes every 4 to 6 hours. We highly recommend using a Weekly Programmable Timer accessory to fully automate this schedule.
  • Servicing: We recommend servicing your laser every 2 years (or annually for heavily used systems) to keep it operating at peak performance.
  • Environmental Limits: The unit is weather-resistant for indoor/outdoor use and operates best in temperatures between -15°C and 40°C.

Yes. Because this is a powerful Class 3B laser, safety precautions must be strictly followed:

  • Operational Rules: NEVER look directly into the laser beam at close range, and NEVER point the laser at people, moving vehicles, or up into the sky. (We offer Laser Safety Glasses and Laser Warning Signs to help ensure workplace safety).
  • Western Australia (WA) Restrictions: If you are operating this device within WA, you are legally required to obtain a license through the Western Australia Radiological Council.
