The Hawk Laser is a completely silent, high-tech scare device. It projects a focused, bright green laser beam that moves swiftly and unpredictably across surfaces. Because the random movement simulates the hunting behavior of a predatory raptor, it triggers a bird’s instinctive fear response, prompting them to immediately flee the area. It is highly effective for keeping ducks and other birds off dams, pools, and crops, and has shown exceptional success against Cockatoos, pigeons, swallows, and Starlings. It is also ideal for well lit  indoors in spaces such as warehouses, and shopping centres or outdoors on top of buildings, facilities or for farming and agriculture.

The Hawk Laser can be used both indoors and outdoors, day and night.

  • Daytime/Overcast: The 500mW laser beam can sweep over 400 meters in a straight line (covering up to 20 acres), with the best visibility occurring on cloudy days or from dusk.
  • Nighttime: In dark conditions, the powerful beam can extend over 800 + metres.

Tip for Best Results: When protecting vineyards or orchards, point the laser directly onto the tree foliage.

Yes, once programmed, the Hawk Laser operates autonomously. The included controller allows you to program up to 80 positions in either a set sequence or a random pattern, while the built-in Pan/Tilt device steers the laser up to 350 degrees to target specific zones (and avoid unwanted areas).

  • Note: The laser diode requires a 30-minute cool-down period every 4 to 6 hours. We highly recommend pairing the unit with our Weekly Programmable Timer accessory to automate this cycle.

The Hawk Laser draws 12V/0.7A and comes with a 240V power adapter. If you are deploying it in a remote agricultural location without mains power, it can easily run off a 12V battery system. For a reliable solar setup, we recommend using:

  • A 12V 50AH deep cycle battery
  • A minimum 40-Watt solar panel (we offer a compatible 110W Solar Panel with Regulator)
  • A 12V battery adapter

Because this is a powerful Class 3B laser, safety and compliance are paramount:

  • Strict Warnings: DO NOT look directly into the laser beam at close range, and NEVER point the laser at people, moving vehicles, or directly into the sky. We highly recommend purchasing our Laser Safety Glasses and Laser Warning Signs.
  • Legal Requirements: Please follow all local laws regarding lasers. If you are operating this device in Western Australia (WA), you are legally required to obtain a license through the Western Australia Radiological Council.

All orders are shipped directly from our Sydney warehouse, and our listed price includes GST. To help you manage upfront costs and protect your seasonal crops, we offer two flexible options:
